Sharon’s Favorite Destination Wedding Spots

Having a destination wedding is such a wonderful adventure – for you and your guests!  Here are some of Sharon’s favorite destination spots:

Tuscany/Florence, Italy
Of all the countries in the world, few can compete in romanticism and grace with Italy. This particular area has some pretty spectacular views to it, so it will make for the perfect wedding spot. Plus, the food is excellent in all of Italy, so your guests will be more than happy with the menu too.

You don’t have to go too far away from home to find a sensational wedding destination. Carmel is warm and welcoming and one of the perfect spots to say I Do!

Cabo San Lucas
Located in stunning Mexico, Cabo San Lucas has some pretty amazing beaches and landscapes you could use for your “wedding day background”. You will truly love its positive vibes and style – no matter your wedding decor or theme!

Jackson Hole, Wyoming
Searching for a mountainside destination with splendid views? Jackson Hole is a gorgeous option! You will still fall in love with its rustic feel and its amazing landscapes.

Hawaii is an affordable option for your family and friends! Exotic, warm, beautiful and unique, Hawaii can be the ideal wedding destination for a wide range of types of couples.  And your guests will love it too!

Turks and Caicos
Located in the Caribbean Seas, Turks and Caicos is one of the most famous islands in the area. A British territory with exotic vibes and landscapes, Turks and Caicos is a great option for a warm, romantic getaway.

Costa Brava, Spain
Costa Brava is a luxurious, elegant, sophisticated and versatile spot for your Big Day – and it is guaranteed you will love it for the very first time you see it.

Sharon Sacks | An Interview with Then and Now Magazine

Being in the wedding and events industry you learn tips and tricks of the trade. Recently Sharon sat down with Then and Now Shop Magazine to share her insights and experience with wedding planning and some tips for bride-to-be’s.

Here are some of our favorite parts:

Q: How do you make sure brides effectively describe to you their vision for their wedding day?

“A: When I meet with a bride and groom I have them bring in as many visuals as they can. I ask them not to limit themselves to only photos of florals or table settings but to think outside of the box. What architecture inspires them? What fashion do they love? What music do they listen to on their iPod? What are their favourite restaurants? In this discussion we try to focus on words that reflect the emotion they would like represented on that day. Weddings should be about the bride and groom as a couple and the feeling they would like their guests to have throughout the night.”

Q:What’s the most stressful aspect of planning a wedding?

“A: After 30 years in the business I am fortunate to have put together a large group of vendors who I trust in their creativity, product and execution. I still get butterflies the day of the wedding but knowing that I have amazing people with me helping me in these otherwise stressful fields keeps my stress levels down. You always need to have great vendors! “

Q: Is there a dream venue you’d like to book for a wedding/event?

“A: Dolphin Island, which is one of the most exclusive private islands near Positano, Amalfi Coast and Capri. It would be a dream come true to book this island for an event.”

Destination Wedding Planner Congress 2016

The Four Seasons Florence was a most gracious and hospitable host.  The service and staff there were 5 star and the food was delightful.  The magnificent location brought an exciting energy to the time.

Sharon, founder of Sacks Productions, started off the conference with an exceptional speech, setting the tone for the rest of the Congress.  She was motivating and inspiring as hundreds of attendees commented on how much they appreciated her words and gave them inspiration that they will take back to their countries.  Sharon was joined by some other spectacular speakers including Marcy Blum, Ed Libby, Wendy Daoud El-Khoury, Joe Blackman, Tara GuerardCarlotta Ferrari and many more.

The Stazione Leopolda was a great venue to host the DWC 2016, while evening events were hosted by venues such as Villa Corsini and Villa Di Maiano. We were able to meet with hundreds of potential venues, vendors, and meet and talk to many other planners.  It was an open forum to share ideas, business models, budgeting, thoughts, and ideas, and such an honor to sit among industry piers from all around the world listening to their experiences and challenges.

The QNA did a fabulous job organizing and Prachi and all her team were a delight to work with.  Lots of lasting relationships were made.

marie antoinette famously said, “let them eat cake;” and for centuries, newlyweds have chosen this form of pastry to celebrate their nuptials. but times, they are a-changin’, and in this day and age couples are veering away from the status quo and breaking the mold (cake mold!) when it comes to choosing the perfect pastry for their big celebration.
