Our recent Santa Lucia Preserve wedding is featured on LA’s Racked for their article on 10 LA influencers and what they wore on their wedding day.
Via our bride, Breelayne:
“I am a total free-spirit, so while I was on the hunt for the dress, I thought I wanted something really silky and loose that flowed. I’m really petite — only five feet — so when I tried on those silhouettes, something looked really off and the colors never looked great with my skin tone. About six months to a year into the search, I went to a Galia Lahav trunk show at a local bridal shop with my mom. Before going in, I told my mom, ‘I’m really not sure if this designer will be right for me or not,’ given the fact I had been wanting something really bohemian and minimal, but we went despite my initial reservations. I tried on a few dresses that I wasn’t crazy about and then I tried on the last one. I kid you not, the entire shop stopped what they were doing and gasped. I started to cry and everyone was like, ‘This is the one!’
It was completely unexpected and not something I thought I would ever love, but once I had it on, there was no question about whether this was it or not. I felt like a fairy princess in it (as silly as that sounds) and the designer was there and made some custom alterations to the dress, given how teeny I am. It was such an amazing experience! I ended up finding these white satin Manolos on eBay because nowhere carried them and I knew that was the shoe I wanted. Luckily, I found a single pair listed in my size. Truly a Cinderella story moment!”
